As the hub for good public policy in Orange County, the Association of California Cities brings together local governments, elected officials, private sector interests and non-profits to find constructive ways to create and implement workable public policy solutions from the ground up. FSB Core Strategies works with the ACC-OC in three key ways to further their mission:
- The City Square – a weekly radio program broadcast online by OC Talk Radio and produced by the ACC-OC. Hosted and co-produced by FSB’s Senior Vice President and ACC-OC Emeritus Council Member, Jerry Amante, the City Square focuses on the issues facing local government in Orange County, as well as the regional and state government issues of the day in an engaging and thought-provoking way. Guests each week talk with Jerry about particular public policy challenges facing cities and agencies and how they are being addressed. The City Square airs live weekly at 9AM Pacific Time and can be heard online or through archived podcasts.
- Committee Management – FSB works with ACC-OC staffing and help drive the work behind three of the association’s most policy heavy committees: Pensions & Human Resources, Technology & Infrastructure, and the Homeless OC Task Force. With the enormous costs of pension liabilities facing cities, urgent need for infrastructure must be properly prioritized. And with the growing problem of homelessness in Orange County, FSB works closely with local policymakers and experts on identifying the core problems and devising solutions and frameworks for Orange County’s leaders to employ as they address these important issues.
- Association Management – FSB provides strategic counsel and support for the day-to-day administrative and management issues of the organization. Through the support we provide the office of the CEO, we help ensure efficiency in the delivery of this unique organization’s client services.
