KRISTY BABB is a Partner and Executive Vice President at FSB Core Strategies. For nearly two decades she has excelled at developing integrated communication campaigns for corporate, government and nonprofit clients including Ford Motor Company, California Travel Association, Placer County Transportation Planning Agency and Dairy Council of California.

Since joining FSBCS in 2005, Kristy has focused on targeting audiences through community-based organization outreach, developing relationships with influential opinion leaders and media and mobilizing stakeholders to deliver branded and issue-based messages.

For five years, Kristy lead a multistate grassroots reputation program for the firm’s largest corporate client, Ford Motor Company where her team was charged with rebuilding the company’s brand in California, Nevada and Hawaii as the automaker was in the midst of one of the Country’s worse financial downturns and other automakers were asking for a financial bailout from Congress. She and her team successfully implemented an aggressive communications plan including earned media, grassroots and key influential outreach and as a result doubled Ford’s purchase consideration in California and today Ford is the most profitable US Automaker.

Kristy spent the beginning of her career focusing on the firm’s ballot initiative clients and has worked on a number of successful statewide campaigns on behalf of the PhRMA and California’s business community – Proposition 78, 79 and 89.

Prior to joining the firm, Kristy was the communications director for the Dairy Council of California. At the Dairy Council, she served as spokesperson and was responsible for all statewide communication efforts including earned media, marketing and crisis communication  leading the organization through the state’s first reported case of mad cow disease in 2003 and the launch of the new food pyramid in 2005.  Previous to the Dairy Council, Kristy was with The Hoyt Company where she served as a project manager overseeing community relations and grassroots efforts on behalf of a number of local government agencies including the cities of Sacramento, Elk Grove and Sacramento Regional Transit. Kristy began her career in public relations at the assignment desk at KCRA, Channel 3 and as an account executive for the Sacramento offices of Stoorza Communications and Goddard Claussen Porter Novelli.

Kristy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from University of California, Davis where she minored in communications. She is a Board of Director for the Folsom Chamber of Commerce and was recently appointed to the Honorary Board for Raley’s Food for Families Program.  She also is an active member of local nonprofit, Friends of NICU, and resides in Folsom, CA with her husband and two sons.

If I weren’t a public affairs professional I’d be a... a country western singer.  For now, performing Carrie Underwood on Rock Band will have to suffice.

On my first day at FSB... Cherri accused me of going to a high school Homecoming dance with her boyfriend (which I did).

I enjoy working at FSB because… there is never a dull moment.

When leaving the office for lunch, my favorite mid-town Sacramento restaurant to be seen at is… Spataro, nestled behind a warm chicken panini.
